Sean Smith, MD


Dr. Sean Smith grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and spent 4 years in the Army as a medic/EMT prior to attending the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.  After receiving his degree in Microbiology, he spent one year as a Chemical Officer at Fort Bragg, NC prior to attending medical school.  Upon graduation from the University of Tennessee-Memphis College of Medicine, he completed his Pediatric Residency at Brooke Army Medical Center/Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.  His duty assignments included New York, North Carolina, Missouri, Washington, D.C., Saudi Arabia and Iraq.  He finished his 23 year military career as the Chief of the Pediatrics Department at Fort Carson. 

Dr. Smith is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and has 18 years of experience caring for children of military families.  He brings his passion for the health and welfare of children into the office every day.  He enjoys encouraging parents to advocate for and lead their children.  Dr.  Smith's areas of special interest are caring for children with chronic health needs, injury prevention, and early childhood development.  He believes compassion should be a part of every encounter.

Dr. Smith and his wife are graciously blessed with four children.  They enjoy fishing, hunting, geocaching and exploring Colorado.
