Jason Kalan, MD

Born in New York and raised in Ohio, Dr. Kalan knew since high school that he wanted to be a pediatrician. After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1996, he continued on at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine for his medical degree in 2000. He then completed his pediatric internship and residency in 2003 at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Dallas. He is board-certified in pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Besides general pediatrics, Dr. Kalan enjoys practicing sports medicine (including concussion management) and treating children with ADHD and other school-related issues.

He was a solo practitioner in Wylie, Texas for one year before moving to Denver, Colorado to join a pediatric practice in 2004. His four years there gave him the opportunity to become an expert and national speaker in the field of ADHD and ADD. Dr. Kalan follows the progression of ADHD from pre-school into adulthood with special emphasis on providing individualized treatment for each patient. This may include behavior management techniques, coaching in organizational skills, recognizing unique learning styles and medication.

Dr. Kalan joined Matthews-Vu Medical Group as a full-time physician in November 2015. His goal is to provide the most advanced pediatric care and develop the best ADHD clinic in Colorado. "My goal is to help children learn the way they learn best through medical treatment and developing the organizational and study skills they will need to be successful in life." He regularly attends ADHD and sports medicine conferences to keep current with advances in those areas.

When not in the office, Dr. Kalan enjoys researching antique automobiles, skiing, teaching youth group at his church, going on medical mission trips and spending time with his wife and six children.
